This is due not to demand, but by the ongoing chip shortage that’s affecting manufacturing.” Furthermore, they said, “Chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki said these weaker PS5 sales were short-term and would not affect the company’s long-term plan.” Surprisingly, the recent news comes as a silver lining.

In the tweet, he said, “According to my retail sources, PS5 availability worldwide during September was ‘surprisingly good’. One source told me it was the best it’s been for over a year. Looking forward to seeing that data.”
