It looks Sony is all set to kickstart its year with a bang that will certainly impress the fanbase. The Japanese gaming studio kept the entire community waiting, and finally, it has announced its first ‘PlayStation State of the Play’ event of the year. The return of the impressive stream will last for 20 minutes with a special focus on Japanese video games and it will take place on March 9 at 2 PM PT.

However, this won’t be the only focus of the video as the gaming giant is also going to provide an update about its other in-house studios as well. This gives everyone a glimmer of hope to see more news about the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok along with various Marvel projects.

PlayStation is ready to kickstart 2022 with promising titles

According to a recent blog post, the Japanese studio has announced the date for the stream and it will most likely take place on the official YouTube channel. PlayStation’s spokesperson Kristen Zitani provided updates about the event and what fans can truly expect from it.

“A new State of Play is upon us! Join us this Wednesday, March 9 at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern / 11:00 PM CET for new reveals and eye-catching updates for PS5 and PS4 titles. Note: We won’t have any updates on PlayStation VR2 titles or hardware in this broadcast.

“The show is clocking in around 20 minutes, give or take, with a special focus on highlighting great games coming from some of our beloved Japanese publishers, though we’ll have a few updates from other developers located around the world, too.

“You can of course watch our broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube. See you Wednesday!”

It is quite possible that the studio might roll out trailers for brand new titles that haven’t been revealed yet. Back in 2021, reports indeed stated that Sony is working on a massive roster of titles and half of them are new IPs (intellectual properties). So far, fans have only got the chance to look at a few of them and it is quite possible for the studio to divulge more information about the other ones.
