Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is actively planning to take entertainment to the next level with new media. The studio is also working on producing a range of unique titles tailor-made for PlayStation 5. It seems like the production house has set its sight on developing new intellectual properties that could kick start new franchises.
SIE’s executive recently shed light on the upcoming projects for PS5. New titles like Returnal and other impressive projects could be in pipeline.

SIE is working on a new range of titles for PlayStation 5
In a conversation with Wired, SIE’s executive Hermen Hulst shed light on things to come. He spoke about everything that the studio is actively planning to do. SIE’s Ceo Jim Ryan appointed Hulst to head PlayStation studio in 2019. Hults also co-founded Guerrilla Games before taking over PlayStation.
He stated that fans can expect 25 new titles for PS5 out of which half of them will be completely new titles like The Returnal. This indeed serves as a piece of exciting news, as the studio continues to produce amazing titles for its next-gen console.
“There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions. Big, small, different genres.”
Safe to say that the new remaining titles could include prominent sequels to already successful franchises. Games like God of War Ragnarok, Sunset Overdrive, Yakuza, The Last of Us 3, and more could be in the pipeline. These games are highly anticipated and will definitely add more value to the roster of available titles.

So far, the studio has had an amazing response with its original titles. Noteworthy franchises like God of War, Uncharted, Spiderman, The Last Us, have already produced amazing results. The studio has even turned its most successful titles like Uncharted and The Last of Us into live-action projects.

Fans can expect to see the Uncharted movie, starring Tom Holland, release sometime in early 2022. Meanwhile, The Last of Us is being turned into a TV series and it will release by next year as well. The announcement of new IPs could also produce more iconic games, which could create more prominent franchises.
