Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming big-budget title. It will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 10, 2023. And at later dates for last-gen consoles and Nintendo Switch.
While fans are pretty excited about this game, the delay has put some of them off. To cure this, Avalanche Games showed off large portions of the game in a recent showcase.

During this live event, they showed the world outside Hogwarts that players are free to explore; they showed Brooms that players can use to take flight, and finally, they showed the Dark Arts Battle arena.
Dark Arts are pretty easy to get and use in Hogwarts Legacy
Players were first shown the Broom, how it takes flight and were told about how it can be customized and such. And it was followed by a number of things and just organically, the developers make their way to the Forbidden Forest. They explained that to get to a special location, it was important to go through this forest.
And the forest led them to the Dark Arts Battle Arena. Then they revealed that players can show their battle skills in this arena and started fighting a bunch of enemies.

While the developers showed the player character using some dangerous forbidden spells on their enemies in the Dark Arts arena, they talked about how these spells would mostly be available only in this area and nowhere else.
Some of the players enjoyed this showcase of combat, but others did not like the fact that the player character is practically a teenager and they can use Dark Arts and even kill other characters in Battle Arena. The player is even shown using curse spell-like Avada Kedavra on their enemies.
We must also make it clear to the gamers reading this that the Dark Arts arena is not available to the gamers buying the standard edition of Hogwarts Legacy. It only accompanies the Deluxe Edition of the game. This just means that these spells are not necessarily a part of the game.
Harry Potter fans are worried about the use of Dark Art in the game
There are fans who are still interested in the game, but there are also people who are worried about this game getting exclusive content, and there are some who are not very happy about the Dark Arts. And all of them had something to say on Twitter.
Hogwarts Legacy developers showed off the Dark Arts Battle Arena, an area included in the Deluxe version of the game that gives you free rein to use Avada Kedavra, Crucio, and other curses. You can also use these spells in the main game. https://t.co/730Z7ujwQG pic.twitter.com/m7MDDFjzdB

So there's a whole arena to practice dark magic… locked behind a more expensive edition of the game? 🤨

What the hell? This is so greedy! Will it always be locked behind a pay wall? Or is it just like an early acces thing in which we can unlock it say 5 hours into the game or sumin? 🤔

You mean you can use the torture and killing spells. Stop trying to make the game look bad. This is hilarious 😂

Go watch the gameplay. It isn't as extreme as this makes it sound. But the general idea is there and implied.
