HBO Max’s prestige drama series, The Last of Us is garnering high praise not only from critics and fans but also from the OG actors from the original game. On Twitter, the original Voice Actor of one of the main characters of the series paid tribute to his on-television counterpart. Expressing his pride and sense of gratefulness to see his character treated with justice.
Based on Naughty Dog’s Magnum opus, the Last of Us, is deemed one of the greatest shows of the year. With the original director and co-creator of the series Neil Druckmann and renowned drama writer Craig Mazin looking after the development of the adaption, the LOU television series has perfectly encapsulated the message of the original while offering something more.

Other than phenomenal writing and absolute masterclass performance, another great aspect of the HBO Max show is its respectful treatment of the source material. They not only feature some of the best actors the industry has to offer but also the original talent that made the game so special in the first place.
The cast includes Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Merle Dandridge, and Jeffrey Pierce, who played some of the significant roles in the original 2013 game. While many fans were speculating why the production didn’t only feature original actors, the show proved that the actors cast were no less than the originals.
In the game, one of the lead characters, Tommy, Joel’s brother, was played by veteran actor Jeffrey Pierce. In the show, the shoes of Tommy were donned by Gabriel Luna. Being such a vital character in the story, the expectations from the performance were quite high. But the actor understood the wright of the character and delivered a phenomenal job on the screen.

Luna’s performance in the episode was so impressive, even the OG actor of Tommy, Jeffrey Pierce took to Twitter to show his pride for the young actor. He wrote, “So. F*cking. Proud of you. Great work,” tagging Luna. Seeing the veteran’s praise, the actor also replied to the tweet, expressing his gratitude.
