Pokemon Go earns $6 billion in revenue since its original release

The augmented reality-based title made its debut on July 6, 2016, for the iOS and Android mobile devices. Developed by Niantic, with Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, it became an instant hit within a couple of days of its release.
Pokemon Go uses the GPS functionality on mobile devices in order to give a real-life simulation to the players. They can locate, capture, train, and even fight against virtual creatures, or in other words, Pokemon. In the year of its arrival itself, the free-to-play title managed to witness more than 500 million downloads.
Speaking of the overall stats to date, the game has been installed 678 million times as of this writing.

Well, now it has achieved yet another milestone six years after the original launch. As reported by Eurogamer, Pokemon Go has now earned $6 billion in revenue. The figures are taken from a reliable platform, Sensor Tower.
Expanding on the news further, US players have spent around $2.2 billion so far on Pokemon Go, followed by Japanese and German players.
In the history of mobile gaming, there are only a few games that have earned a mammoth figure of $6 billion or more. These include the likes of Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga, PUBG Mobile, and Honor of Kings.
