Jacob R is a renowned youtuber, known particularly for his unboxing videos and reviews especially of gaming consoles. He is also popular for his experiments on gaming consoles like inserting foreign game discs into different devices. In one of his recent videos , he showcased a bunch of Nintendo consoles, from a website called Temu. Surprisingly the Nintendo Switch just costed $7 from that website.
Temu is a China based e-commerce website that ships consumer goods at a very low price. The reason behind this low price is that it ships directly to the customers from the suppliers. And this seems legit as Temu is a ‘sister company’ of the Chinese e-commerce giant Pinduoduo.
Jacob R revealed that he was concerned about the console condition from the very beginning as he got it at 2.5% of the original price. Dust on the packaging of the console and as there was no factory seal, Jacob R’s concern seemed legit.
Functionality and Compatibility
Despite being poor in packaging, the console turned on smoothly. Buttons were working fine as Jacob navigated the home menu. He then went to insert the Mario Kart 8 disk and surprisingly it ran without any significant issue.
Though the game ran smoothly, but there were connectivity issues when Jacob tried to connect the console through wifi networks, especially with the 5GHz bands.
