“Seriously, Why They Just Don’t Replace Toad?” Mario Fans Dissent After Not Seeing Their Favorite Character in the Nintendo Holiday Wishes

Nintendo has been one of the nostalgic names for gamers across the world. Considered to be one of the pioneers in the community, Nintendo has brought some amazing characters for its fans. Among them is the fan favorite ‘Mario’. Mario and his party were introduced to the world in 1983. Ever since, it has become the most popular feature of Nintendo.

Moreover, Mario is the official mascot for the gaming giants. But, this new year, fans were disappointed with the step taken by Nintendo.

Fans disappointed at Nintendo

We all just got into a fresh year. Almost every major figure in the gaming industry made sure that they wished a belated new year to their fans. Among them was Nintendo, but their wish was received in a negative light by their fans.

In the new year wish by the gaming company, they replaced Luigi with Yoshi. Luigi is one of the most prominent characters in the Mario franchise, and him getting replaced by Yoshi in the wish was hard to digest for the fans. The new wish included Mario, Princess Peach, Toad, and Yoshi. This replacement has infuriated the fans.

Reactions towards this replacement by the community

Yoshi replacing Luigi in the holiday season posters has made many fans disappointed. They expressed their emotions through their socials.

Yoshi seems to have a new render and many fans think this might be one of the reasons Nintendo had while they planned to not include Luigi in the mix.

On the other hand, Yoshi fans were delighted. Moreover, Yoshi was not in the frontlines of franchise marketing that much. And this inclusion is something that came as good news for the people who adore Yoshi.

Some fans went on to take a dig at Toad. Some of the Yoshi and Luigi fans think that Toad should have been replaced and not Luigi. Especially since he has been on the front cover for a long time.

Nintendo has not said anything regarding this. Nevertheless, rumors have started to smoke up. Especially about Nintendo taking a step back from updating Luigi. But, putting on an optimistic lens, maybe Nintendo is planning something bigger for one of their most famous characters.
