Riot Games finally held Valorant’s first LAN event in Iceland. This tournament recently concluded, and the budding eSport crowned its first world champion in Team Sentinels. The top-rated NA team remained unbeaten, besting every other region in a dominant fashion. Shroud was very proud of the team’s performance, and their unbeatable run blew him away.
The team boasted a superstar line-up of NA’s brightest players, which also included Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo. The superstar player was loaned out to fellow NA team Sentinels by Cloud9.
The team has won two key tournaments ever since TenZ joined forces, which has made him an important addition. However, the pro player found himself in a tricky situation between the two teams, because of his existing contract with Cloud9.

Shroud thinks Sentinels will have to spend top dollars to acquire TenZ
The retired professional streamer, Michael ‘Shroud‘ Grzesiek, touched upon the buyout situation during the grand finals. He stated that things will not be so easy for Sentinels, as TenZ excels not just as a professional player but also as a streamer. Tyson’s average viewership goes upwards of 30K, which makes him an invaluable addition.
Shroud sat down to view the epic conclusion of the tournament with former teammate Freakazoid, and Justin to discuss the situation. The trio joked about the buyout numbers and also suggested that it might go upwards of 5 million.
” Sentinels is not buying him out for 5 mils, if it is, okay? There is no way. Not at 5, maybe 2.”
Shroud was adamant about it being lower than 5 million, but later on, agreed that it could go as high as 5 million. However, the streamer wasn’t convinced whether Sentinels would shell out top dollars to buy him out.

The org has not revealed details about the buyout. However, more rumors from within the community point at a 7 figure buyout. Taking Shroud’s comments about TenZ’s value and what Sentinels can afford to pay into account, it would not be far-fetched to assume that the buyout may have touched the 2-4 million mark.
