Raphael Lacoste, senior art director of Assassin’s Creed Series is leaving the company after almost 16 years. It is quite a lot of time. He definitely made his unforgettable mark on the series with his talent. Raphael Lacoste confirmed this news from his official Twitter handle. He has worked on eight different Assassin’s Creed till now. Well, it is not clear if he is talking about the game or characters here. He worked on the very first Assassin’s Creed way back in 2007.

Lacoste has already planned all his next moves. Not even a day later, everyone knows where this incredible man is taking his talents to. Lacoste announced his next move in a separate tweet. After leaving Ubisoft, he is joining the new Haven Studios as an art director. Haven Studios is currently working with PlayStation on a brand new IP. This plan makes sense as he has worked closely with Jade Raymond in creating the original Assassin’s Creed.
Lacoste also thanked all the team members of Assassin’s Creed and all the other incredible and talented people he has worked with over those 16 years. He thanked Ubisoft for all the amazing and unforgettable projects.

Set sail on a new adventure with Haven Studios

Raphael Lacoste said that he ultimately left the company to ”set sail on new adventure and challenges”. Over the course of 16 long years, Lacoste worked on multiple Assassin’s Creed titles such as Revelations, Origins, Black Flag, and Valhalla (the latest entry in the loved franchise). Lacoste played an extremely significant role in the creation of such a popular and loved series alongside Jade Raymond.

Lacoste is not the only member to leave Ubisoft in recent months. Assassin’s Creed writer Darby McDevitt and game director Eric Baptizat have also left the company. Darby McDevitt left the company on March 26, 2021, after almost 10 years. He worked on multiple entries in the series over his 10 years of journey at Ubisoft. Eric Baptizat joined EA Motives as game director after leaving Ubisoft. He worked with Ubisoft for almost 16 long years and was the game director of the highly successful and popular Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft will continue to upgrade Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with more and more expansion soon.
