It does not just have fans of its video games, but also of its anime and Pokemon cards. Thus, it was really upsetting for fans to learn in a recent video that there is a huge facility that shreds thousands of these cards per day.
In a recent video uploaded on YouTube, a person claims to find a hidden facility by Nintendo that shreds these cards. This facility is estimated to be worth millions and shreds millions of Pokemon cards daily. Some of these cards are believed to be unreleased, while some of these are meant to be shipped to other countries.
The person got to take out some unshredded cards, some of which included a Snorlax character card, Pikachu v-max, Gengar, Bayonet, a shiny Stelix, and a ton more. The most saddening part was the unreleased Charizard character card, which also got destroyed.
Why do these cards get shredded?
As a part of maintaining the quality of the cards, the company decides to shred them. It is a sort of quality control procedure that many other companies follow too. Companies around the globe make such decisions to provide stable quality of their brands.
As if the quality gets lower, fans might not buy such degraded merchandise. Therefore, it is a much-needed process to maintain the reputation of the brand.
