An avid Hogwarts Legacy player has found a glitch that might or might not irk you, so beware!

Hogwarts Legacy is undoubtedly one of the most popular games for 2023. This Warner Bros production has taken a special place in every fan’s heart, keeping them glued to their screens for countless hours. Plus, fans have ranked the game on top of multiple gaming lists, making it one of the strongest contenders for Game Of The Year 2023.

But despite this success, a handful have complained about multiple bugs during play. For instance, a Reddit post made headlines sometime back featuring a ‘sorting hat’ glitch in the game. And when fans thought that could be the only one, an avid Reddit user showcased something new.

If you are a Sebastian Hallow fan, then you need to be extra attentive during a Hogwarts Legacy quest

On March 7, 2023, Reddit user uselessmedics uploaded a post, featuring a clip from Hogwarts Legacy. Apparently, he had an ongoing mission that featured the Scottish Slytherin student Sebastian Hallow.

And while it felt that the gamer was enjoying the bit, his excitement dropped after Sebastian vanished into the shadows. During the fight with the Venomous Scurrlor, it somehow bit the Slytherin student, giving him an instant knock. Then, as the player gradually managed to the creature, the final blow made Sebastian die at the same time.

At first, it felt bizarre as Hallow did not have any connection to the fight, sparking a debate in the community. And in seconds, it was clear that Hogwarts Legacy had another bug.

Interestingly, this bug turned out beneficial for fans, as the author of the post claimed to receive a collectible item. He informed fellow Potterheads in the comments section saying, “So I discovered that you can accidentally kill Sebastian Sallow, and when you do, he drops dev_placeholder item. I had to reload my save, however, dev_placeholder item remained in my inventory, which I can see when I sell items, it shows up in a tab under gear called miscellaneous. I think this particular quest is just buggy in general though, as I had to reload my save again after this try when he wouldn’t talk to me before opening the first bone door, preventing.”

While this might have been a bug, the fans were in shock as their favorite character faced the unfortunate ending. While many were being sarcastic, a few asked some genuine questions.

While this comment placed itself as the final verdict for classifying it as a bug, the community seemed a bit disappointed with the devs. And looking at this, it makes us wonder, fans did win, but at what cost?
