Ever since its inception, the Metal Gear Solid series has been a PlayStation exclusive. Every major game in this series first launched on a PlayStation console before releasing on other platforms at a later date. And some games, like PlayStation 3’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots, remain exclusive to this day.
So, it only makes sense for Konami to bring the remake of the most iconic game in the series and technically the first installment to the PlayStation 5. Yes, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is coming to Sony’s latest console. It has been in development for the longest time and has been rumored to drop on this console for a while too. Seeing the magnitude of this title, it only makes sense for Sony to choose this huge showcase for this announcement.

For those unaware, Metal Gear Solid 3 is chronologically the first game in the series. It tells the story of how Naked Snake turned into Big Boss and what made him start his Soldiers Without Borders army with Kazuhira Miller.
This would be a great way for Konami to reboot the franchise; they can finally tell this story sequentially. It would all probably depend on the success of this upcoming game though, which would further depend on its announcement.
