Heartbreaking news for all the Horizon Forbidden West fans. According to Jeff Grubb, the company is likely to slip the much-awaited Horizon Forbidden West to next year. The official date of the release has not been confirmed yet. Most probably, the slip will be announced in Sony’s next live stream in September 2021. The major cause of this delay seems to be the pandemic. Sony wasn’t ready to risk the health of the team members just to meet the deadline. Herman Hulst also stated that the upcoming God of War will also be delayed until next year. Looks like fans have to wait a bit more to explore the world of Horizon Forbidden West.

In June 2021, Hulst stated that Horizon Forbidden West is very much on the right track but they haven’t decided the release date yet. The team is working extremely hard to meet the deadline. The dates will be confirmed as soon as they can. About Sony’s next State of Play Live Event, Grubb said that the delay of the game will be announced during that event only. It is supposed to take place in September. However, nothing is officially confirmed yet.
While talking about the delay of God of War, he didn’t rule out the possibility of the delay of Horizon Forbidden West as well. The delay of God of War makes sense as it started quite late. So, it is better to push the release date rather than compromising on the quality of such popular and much-awaited games. Fans have high hopes from both the games.

“I’ve heard, not certain, but I have heard that something’s coming in September and I am trying to debate If I want to be the one to say this. I think that game (Horizon Forbidden West) is going to get delayed to 2022. I don’t know for sure, I think it’s still undecided but I think it’s leaning towards 2022,” he added.
