The North American Valorant eSports front is witnessing unpredictable events. It began with the Sentinels drama and benching of TenZ.  The Americas League is shaping up to be an event that has the most incalculable results.

On the other hand, the tier 2 league which features some of NA’s most dangerous teams, also is going on along similar lines. Disguised, the team pioneered by Disguised Toast was under a lot of limelight, when they roped in 2022’s biggest Valorant player Yay. But things did not go well during his debut match for DSG.

For any game, the eSports front is filled with pressure and competition, and Valorant is no different. Through 2022, the Valorant eSports front, especially the American side saw dramatic changes unfold. Teams got revamped and new rosters were formed. Yay was the star in the market during that time, and Cloud 9 poached him to complete their star-studded roster. We all know what happened next.

Yay, who was removed from C9 was roped in by DSG to compete at Split 2. Hopes were sky-high, especially as Yay was one of the best in the business during the 2022 season. DSG took on Oxygen Esports, who also recently had a roster shake-up.

People predicted DSG to walk away with an easy win as Oxygen pulled in their assistant coach to compete for their match against Disguised. But, these predictions were shattered into million pieces. Oxygen Esports dominated their map pick Haven, taking the win 13-6.

The next was Pearl, DSG’s pick. That went map ‘Over Time’ and DSG lost it 13-15. To top it all off, Yay’s performance did not meet the expected heights. Of the two maps, Yay was 28-36-8, leaving many fans critiquing the star.

Many from the community turned against Yay. There were criticizing him for the performance and taking a dig at why Cloud 9 left him.

But, on the other hand, many are forgetting the factor of debut. That is, it is his first match in the DSG roster. Moreover, the time that was given for Yay to practice with his new team was quite low. The margin was too close and within no time after he joined DSG, Split 2 began.

However, Nerve, who also debuted with Yay had a monumental start. The Sentinel player played Killjoy and took the most number of eliminations in the match. He ended the series with 43-35-7, with an ACS of 263.

We can hope El Diablo will be back to answer these critics and wreak havoc on the opposition in their upcoming matches. DSG will face Shopify Rebellion next. Interestingly, that would be a match in which Yay would face his former Cloud 9 IGL Vanity, who currently is at the helm of Shopify.
