Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is not very definitive.  The game is riddled with game-breaking bugs and glitches. The game has pathetic frame rates and downright ugly visuals. Performance-wise, the game is a nightmare. It seems that there are mobile games that are much more optimized. The game’s $60 price tag does not help its case at all.

The final nail in the coffin is the apathetic response by the developers to players who want a refund.

Hesitancy in providing a refund for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition

Considering the more than lackluster reviews and reception of the game, it is more than fair for players to want a refund. In fact, the game is so bad that it received a pathetic score of 0.5 on Metacritic. Rockstar and PlayStation have hit a new low with regard to how they’ve been treating aggrieved players.

A Reddit user described their experiences with Rockstar and PlayStation when they asked for a refund. The Reddit user took to a post, which has since been deleted, highlighting the hurdles they have had to jump through to get a refund.

The user had to jump over various hurdles and yet they were still not provided a refund. The user had approached Sony for a refund, and he was told to go to Rockstar. However, technically, since the player purchased the game through Sony’s stores, Rockstar was in no position to offer a refund. The player, quite understandably irked by this Kafkaesque policy, vented their frustration to a Rockstar customer Service executive as seen above.

The community was split by this way of approach. Some said that since Rockstar was not in a position to offer any assistance, the player should have moved to Sony. Others took to criticizing Sony and praised the customer service offered by Xbox and Steam.

This chain of events does not bode well for either Rockstar or Sony. Hopefully, everything will work out for the better soon.
