A Twitter account has recently shared some information that has both the basketball and gaming communities talking. The tweet shared that the up-and-coming NBA star is reportedly sponsored by Call of Duty.

Call of Duty is a game that anybody with even a modicum of interest in gaming would have heard about. One of the biggest AAA titles in the market for the past two decades, the popular Activision-Blizzard title has a long line of loyal fans. With the recent lawsuit between the FTA and Microsoft over the acquisition of its publisher, the game has consistently been in the headlines.
A recent tweet pushes it into the spotlight once again with the news that Lakers star Max Christie has received a sponsorship deal from CoD.

The Tweet claimed that the LA Lakers always takes good care of their players. To his fans who are also avid gamers, it would seem like Christie has already struck gold as a sponsorship like this is a dream for many. Now it remains to be seen how the newcomer lives up to the “MVP” chants that have already been showered on him.
Max Christie’s meteoric rise in the NBA
Cormac Karl “Max” Christie Jr. was selected by the Lakers last year as the 35th pick during the 2022 NBA Draft. His selection projected Christie as a long-term play with a few upsides that are beginning to show already. With Max putting up quite the show at the Summer League, fans can’t wait for the season to begin. Many believe the pre-season games have only shown an iota of what Christie is capable of.

The 2023 California Classic saw him making an impressive 21 points, four assists, and five rebounds. Considering the recent news of his new sponsor, it looks like Christie’s position in the NBA is even more secure.
