Riot Games is reportedly testing a few intriguing agent changes on a recent PBE for Valorant. If things go well, the team is definitely expected to add the much-needed changes to the global release too.
The tactical FPS is practically a hero-shooter like Overwatch, but also requires players to keep their gun power notched up. However, a larger part of its gameplay is shaped by what agent players choose and their abilities.

Valorant houses 19 agents in its roster at the moment, and if rumors are indeed true, a 20th agent may soon show up. To keep things balanced and viable, Riot needs to keep tweaking the existing agent meta from time to time. For example, fans have been requesting a Phoenix buff for a long time, as he is currently the most under-picked agent in the game.
Valorant to introduce much awaited buff to Yoru, KAY/O, and Phoenix
According to ValorLeaks on Twitter, Riot Games have deployed a few changes to Yoru, KAY/O, and Phoenix’s ability kits in the PBE. Yoru and Phoenix are getting some notable buffs along with KAY/O.
Phoenix will now come with a buffed Curveball or ‘flash’, featuring an increased maximum duration and a decreased windup of the flash. This change is expected to bring his flashing ability at par with that of his fellow duelists, Reyna and Yoru.

Phoenix will also be able to pull out his weapon faster if he stops bending his wall or Blaze early. Alongside these, Phoenix’s Ultimate ability, ‘Run It Back’ will now respawn him with the amount of shield he had before.

Yoru will also enjoy a longer Dimensional Drift of around 12 seconds, alongside a reduced unequip time of 0.8s for his ultimate. This will let Yoru execute strategies quicker while providing enough time for enemies to retaliate.

Lastly, KAY/O also has to endure some changes to his kit. A positive change will now cause his FRAG/ment or grenade to deal damage even when enemies are not in the grenade’s LOS. However, the grenade will have a smaller area of effect of 8m.

Valorant PBE’s Reddit page also posted a discussion thread for fans to report any issues they face during the trial. Also, this particular PBE is to test for the agent changes and will close at 11 am PDT Monday, June 27th. Following this test phase, Riot will be deciding whether the changes are viable enough for global release.
