How does the doctor’s death in The Last of Us Episode 9 affect Season 2?

In the Season 1 finale, Joel Miller saved Ellie from the Fireflies, as they were going to perform surgery on the ‘immune girl’ to find the cure for Cordyceps. However, the young teenage girl would have lost her life in the process.

Joel killed everyone in the hospital, including Marlene. But rather than killing the leader of Fireflies, it would be the doctor’s death that would possibly haunt Joel in Season 2. Those who have played the games know that Joel does in the second game because of killing the doctor in the first game.

If the HBO adaptation follows the second game for Season 2, then fans would get to meet many new characters, including Abby. She was the other main protagonist in the 2020’s sequel game besides 19-year-old Ellie. But more importantly, she is the daughter of that doctor whom Joel killed at the hospital. She will hunt him down to avenge her father’s death by killing the man responsible for it.

TLOU fans are excited about Abby’s entry in Season 2

After watching Joel kill the doctor who could have developed a cure in the season finale, the game’s fans are looking forward to Ellie’s entry in Season 2. After all, they think Joel doesn’t know how this is going to bite him in the next season.
