Finally, after months of rumors, news of the Grand Theft Auto remastered trilogy appears to be real. There’s been a lot of discussion surrounding the remastering plan of GTA, but now it feels like everything falls perfectly into place. Looks like these exciting remastered games will release later this year (October or November) on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch. There will be three remastered titles, but the names are still under shadows.

Remastered Version of Grand Theft Auto games with a touch of classic old style

According to some reliable sources, Rockstar is working on developing a remastering version of the classic Grand theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto San Andres, and Grand Theft Auto Vice City. All these classic games are being remastered using Unreal Engine and a mix of old and new graphics. Old graphics to give it the original touch that everyone loves.

These games will keep the same old popular style. UI of these games has also been updated. However, no more details about the gameplay have been shared yet. Although Kotaku has been told that all these remastered versions will stay quite true to the PlayStation 2 era as much as possible.

Sources also highlighted that Rockstar Dundee (Scottish outpost) is the leading studio for developing these remastered versions. It is one of the newest studios. The studio is not only just helping in the remastering version but also plays a huge role in the development of next-gen GTA V ports. The ports will be out later this year. Before Rockstar, the studio has worked on many popular projects such as Crackdown 3 and Crackdown 2.

Bonus gift for fans

Because of the ongoing pandemic situation, the plans around these GTA remastered versions shifted a lot over the last year. Originally, these three releases were supposed to be a gift for all the players who purchase the upcoming next-gen Ports.

It was like a bonus from Rockstar to all the players. Then somehow the plans changed and now the remastered versions are ready to get a release later this year for PlayStation 4/5. Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, Stadia, and Smartphones.

The mobile and PC version may get a slip to 2022. If fans get all these classic remastered this year along with the Next-gen GTA V ports, then this year will be a blast for all the GTA lovers.
