Nintendo has been hinting about a showcase event since the last week of August. PlayStation recently unveiled their showcase event this week, and it turned out to be a tremendous success. Following the steps of their chief competitor, it is likely that Nintendo can come up with an event of their own- the Nintendo Direct soon this month.

Moreover, if speculations are believed, Nintendo Switch might see a major price drop this weekend. This adds to all the reasons for Nintendo fans to be hyped this month.

Price Drop for Switch

Last Thursday, Twitter user @nintendoalerts posted a leak that suggested the Switch is getting a substantial price reduction. The console, released in 2017, will get a price reduction to 270 Euros from Monday. This would equal USD 250, so it means that Nintendo is reducing the price by $50 than the MSRP.

The Switch got a revamp with Switch V2 which has longer battery life. Nintendo also has an upcoming Switch OLED model that releases in October. While it’s highly unlikely that this price drop would apply for the OLED model, it will definitely make Switch more accessible to people. The Switch saw a huge rise in demand during the pandemic and has sold out on numerous occasions. This price drop might add substantially to the sales charts.
