Reports Suggest Five Video Game Adaptations on ‘Lord of the Rings’ to Release by 2024

The video gaming community is having a marvelous ride in the present world and surprisingly, not in the eSports section only. Even though new games are coming up that leave the community psyched, the cinematic adaptions of the games are not getting ignored. In fact, this time the tables have turned as gamers might be getting a game based on the legendary franchise, Lord of the Rings.

The Last of Us, Arcane, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are some of the best cinematic adaptations. While more titles like Warhammer 40K (featuring Ana de Armas and Henry Cavill) and the God of War series are in the works, it seems the video game company Embracer Group is looking forward to making not one, not two, but five Lord of the Rings games.

Gamers to get five Lord of the Rings games by the year 2024

As reported by the media organization Eurgamer, the five Lord of the Rings game has been projected to be released in the financial year 2023/2024. Certainly, the time feels justified, provided that they would be working on five titles. More so, encapsulating a universe like Lord of the Rings would be a challenging job.

Presently, a tight cover remains on the developments of the respective games. Nevertheless, it was learned that “the acquisition of Middle-Earth Enterprises has ‘generated a lot of interest among both internal and external partners for the Lord of the Rings IP, across different media formats'”.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum game is in production at Daedalic presently, on which Embracer will receive royalties. Last year in August, Embracer also acquired JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, excluding the rights to the popular films. Out of 224 games by Embracer, 31 are AAA games that would supposedly be released before the financial year 2027/28.

Thus, it seems the video game industry is looking for a greater prospect in both the cinematic and video gaming front. It would be exciting to see how titles roll out in the upcoming years.

‘The Last of Us’ becomes a great video game adaptation for the community

While there is some time for new cinematic adaptations to come, one that is having a flourishing ride in the community is The Last of Us. Adapted from Naughty Dog’s video game title, the HBO series ‘The Last of Us’ has entertained fans for the past five episodes.

With just four episodes left, the series would be reaching its concluding end in four more episodes. Thus, it would be exciting to see how the story takes shape. Plus, it would also be the one that would be setting the ground for the second season which is confirmed.
