The launch of the PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2) has brought virtual reality gaming to a whole new level. It has given an immersive graphical experience to the fans along with 3D dynamic audio for a complete package. Along with this headset, Sony released a free update for Gran Turismo 7 VR mode.

Racing games, like GT7, have always been the choice to showcase the possibilities of VR. But an upcoming racing game, F1 2023, might be losing out on the opportunity. This may come as a shock for PlayStation 5 fans. However, the developers of the game hopefully might release an update for the VR headset of the console.

Electronic Arts recently released a statement that F1 2023 would not receive support for PSVR2. While talking to Mixed News, EA confirmed the latest F1 installment will only be released as a normal version on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on June 13, 2023.

The reception of the PSVR2 update on Gran Turismo 7 was phenomenal. Fans were loving the eye-tracking features and 3D-surround sound present. Furthermore, the VR mode had no effect on the game’s non-VR mode. In most game modes of GT7, players may transition between VR and non-VR modes without losing their progress. This is a huge step forward in cross-platform gaming as earlier VR-enabled titles limited the feature to certain modes only.

With an online multiplayer mode in virtual reality and support for both the steering wheel and PS5 controller, Gran Turismo 7 is surely racing ahead of its counterparts. F1 2023 would have to certainly reconsider its decisions to include support for PSVR2 if they want to compete with Gran Turismo 7.
