

Battlefield 2042 is coming out in some months, and gamers couldn’t be more thrilled. While the Redacted mode was revealed to be Battlefield Portal, an in-game platform that offers an unbelievable level of customizability, another mode is yet to be officially revealed. And that’s the mode known as Hazard. The developers have been keeping things on the down-low. But, courtesy of reliable leakers, new information has come about that suggests the Hazard mode is similar to Escape from Tarkov.

Rumored similarities between BF 2042 and Escape from Tarkov
Escape from Tarkov is a game that offers a hardcore shooter experience. Players have to get to a point across the map, overcoming many threats and adversities. The game incorporates perma-death and loot-loss features. And this Battlefield 2042 Hazard mode is rumored to include similar features.
If this is true, then that means player deaths will be permanent. And not just that, they will also lose valuable loot when they die. This will certainly make the game difficult.

The thing is, gamers got to test Battlefield 2042 recently, between August 12 and 15. Since then, a lot of information, as well as gameplay footage, has come forward. The community believed the Hazard mode was going to use new maps. But that might not be the case. Reputed leaker/dataminer Temporyal made a tweet denoting that the doesn’t have any maps specifically made for the Hazard mode.

Hazard Zone seems to be indeed a mix between Escape from Tarkov & Hunt Showdown.

The game will not be getting exclusive maps for its Hazard mode, but the developers will ensure the mode feels unique in another way. What the alpha tests have revealed is that the maps that are already in the game will be altered to offer a unique experience.

Not much else is known about the Hazard mode right now. The Hazard mode will get its reveal as the release date for the game draws nearer. And gamers can’t wait for the reveal.
