The PlayStation 5 is currently enjoying unmatched success in gaming. The console is selling more than any of its competition and has a bunch of exciting new exclusives on the way. With such success and fanfare, one would think Sony would want to keep things stable.

But that does not seem to be the case, as rumors suggest that the console maker is working on the Pro version of their primary console right now. And that console might be in its final stages of production!

Sony PlayStation 5 owners are pretty excited right now. They are getting primed for an upcoming massive showcase that will feature a bunch of games that everybody has been waiting for.

And that list is not short either. Games like Spider-Man 2, Silent Hill 2, etc. are all set to be the prime attractions of this showcase. While they are excited for their first look at the gameplay of these games, it appears Sony has much more in store.

A recent report from Tom Henderson on Insider Gaming suggests that Sony might soon be sending out dev kits for its upcoming console, PlayStation 5 Pro, to the developers. This is not a small thing either; sending the developer kit means that the console is in its final stages of production. It also means that it might even be just months away from launch, and this confirms that this console might be revealed during the same showcase mentioned above.

Though Tom Henderson does not confirm this fact, he suggests that Sony is still deciding upon this console, and it might even be revealed to the public at a later date. If this is indeed true, then it is expected that Sony will release a very powerful console in the coming time that might even fulfill the dream of 4K 60FPS for gamers. It would truly be a console worthy of the next-gen category.

Fans are not very hyped about it though!

A new PlayStation 5 Pro console sure sounds interesting, but Sony fans are not very excited about it. They have said it multiple times: they do not want a new, more powerful console more than they want games that utilize the full power of the current console. And this seems like a reasonable thing too.

And maybe that’s the reason Sony is still undecided on the launch of that console. It has to be seen when they take the final decision and reveal this console.
