The latest reports suggest that Xbox Game Pass could be making its way to Steam. The news comes from Tyler McVicker, a Xbox insider who has brought in several news in the past.

For the uninitiated, Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service offered for the Xbox consoles and Windows 10. The subscription is now available on select Android devices as well, thanks to xCloud streaming. The game pass offers a collection of games every month from some of the top publishers.

Having Xbox Game Pass subscription on Steam would be a great addition for Microsoft. The PC game store is highly sought after, and Microsoft cannot ask for a much better stage. Xbox Head Phil Spencer, in the past, has expressed his desire to bring the subscription service to as many platforms as he can.

Earlier, there were rumors of the Game Pass making a debut for Nintendo Switch among other consoles, but there was no further progress. Perhaps bringing Game Pass to Nintendo or PlayStation platforms might tether with their own subscription services. While the idea does sound intriguing, the chances of it coming to fruition seem quite thin.

Currently, PC players can purchase the Game Pass through the Windows store. Having it on Steam would benefit the majority.

Steam already has EA Play on offer, so more subscriptions would only grow their user base. There is also a chance that if Xbox Game Pass makes its way to Steam, there would be some offers or cuts for users. Microsoft would look to soften the deal to their favor as much as possible.

Nonetheless, there has been no news on the aforementioned report from both the parties. As of this moment, this can only be considered as a rumor. If Microsoft and Valve collaborate, then that would indeed be a milestone.
