The ongoing game of subscription-based services is really gaining momentum these days. Following the success of its previous offering like the PS Now, PlayStation will soon reveal a new service called Spartacus.

Bringing a strong rival to a platform like the Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation’s Spartacus may end up creating a huge buzz, eventually. Moreover, there are some interesting details already available for the yet-to-launch subscription platform.

As reported by Gamespot, Spartacus will comprise three tiers viz- Essential, Extra, and Premium. However, in the coming days, these specific names can change unexpectedly. This is quite obvious since there’s no official announcement from Sony as yet.

Talking about the Spartacus service, then the Essential tier will be available for the players for about $10 USD. It will reportedly offer a very small collection of games on a monthly basis. At the moment, the PS Plus operates differently than what this early report for Spartacus suggests.

Then there is the Extra tier which will start at $13 USD. Expectedly, it will offer more PlayStation games than the Essential tier. Lastly, the Premium tier, for a whopping $16 USD, will include extended features while also offering PS Now’s streaming abilities.

The premium tier will also have “classic” titles and a new “games trials” feature. The latter will enable players to test out upcoming PlayStation releases before they purchase them. But there is also a catch here. The feature providing the trial of the new games will be for a limited period only, similar to the EA Play service.

Moreover, just like the names of the tiers, the pricing may also change later when Spartacus eventually makes its debut.

Sadly, there is no report that suggests it will offer day-one releases like the Xbox Game Pass. Although it’s expected to boost the PlayStation Plus service with a rebranding. Hopefully, it will also turn into a solid rival to Xbox’s offering at the moment.
