Arguably, the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is turning out to be the worst-kept secret in Konami’s history. Even before the release of the game, various details about the game have leaked online. Fans know a hell of a lot more about the game, like the rumors of the game being multi-platform from the start.

While some may argue that the rumors are being released intentionally. The rumors are PlayStation and Konami are attempting to build the hype back up around the gamelike earlier days. However, unlike the earlier days, they don’t have the mastermind of Hideo Kojima backing this title. Now another rumor about the game has become public, forcing fans to comment on what would be the element of surprise during the game’s reveal.

According to industry insider Jez Corden, the remake will not be a PlayStation exclusive. Historically, the series was always associated with PlayStation consoles. Now according to sources of Insider Gaming, the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake will not be a PlayStation exclusive. Their sources revealed that the remake will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.

However, PlayStation’s role in the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is still up in the air. It is still rumored that PlayStation will have some sort of exclusive rights with its marketing or potential DLC. These rumors coincide with Corden’s statement, who said on his podcast, “It does seem at least in the case of metal gear actually could be multiplatform.

Corden had also confirmed earlier that the title will be coming to Xbox too. He said, “But from what I’ve heard, it could also be coming to Xbox down the line so it’s not a full exclusive either at all.”

However, it is safe to assume that the game will definitely be making an appearance on the PlayStation Showcase. The game will be making an appearance alongside the much-awaited Spider-Man sequel. The PlayStation Showcase will start at 1 PM Pacific daylight time on May 24.
