Remnant 2 Will Soon Have A Crossplay Experience, Says Developer Gunfire

Set in the post-apocalyptic landscape, Remnant 2 takes the legacy of the series debut to the next level. The adventure third-person shooter sequel was released in July 2023. Besides having some significant issues in the gameplay, the title made some decent business numbers. The title pulled off over a million sales in just one week post its release, making it one of the best-selling games of the year. With the ultimate rise in popularity of third-person shooters, the developers are planning on a crossplay experience. Remnant 2 is likely to join the elite crossplay titles list soon. 

Developed by Gunfire Games, Remnant 2 is a journey of survival with a perfect fusion of ancient mysteries. While the game has already established a classic fan following, a crossplay feature was quite a frequent task. Well, it seems like the developers have decided to finally cater to the fan demands. The Gunfire chief confirmed cross-play feature plans for Remnant 2 in the latest AMA. As per David Adams, Gunfire is working to allow friends access to Remnant 2 irrespective of the console brand. 

“It Is Being Actively Worked On”: Remnant 2 Director Confirms Massive Speculation

There were plenty of speculations running around a possible crossplay for the game. Although the makers had maintained a strong radio silence until now. David Adams, the President of Gunfire Games who is also the director of Remnant 2, gave massive insights on the title’s future. Besides planning some patch updates, the developers are working on bringing the crossplay feature to the project. The latter held an AMA on the Remnant subreddit. During the session, he was asked about the speculations around Remnant 2 crossplay. “Yes, we are looking at it,” Adams wrote. There are issues with the different platforms and what they require in order to allow crossplay, but it is being actively worked on”, the director responded.

There is still no update on how long the developers might take the introduction of the crossplay feature. The crossplay feature allows players from various console brands to access a particular game. Considering the only expanding console rivalry, this feature seems like a must for giant developers. Diablo 4 is an example of a crossplay giant in 2023 enjoying round success.
