With that being said, FPS and online games have set the biggest example under this category as they condition players to team with people to play video games. Games like Apex Legends set a prime example for this, asking players to drop into battle as a trio. 

It was all going well for the Apex community, as they were enjoying the game. They happily teamed up and met random players, forming meaningful relationships with them outside the game. However, the Apex community suffered a massive loss as a dedicated player passed away. As a result, his best friend paid tribute to him in the most heartfelt manner, alongside the entire community, extending their support. 

Apex Legends fan pays tribute to his late best friend in the most “Nice McDice” manner 

The past two years were a rollercoaster for all of us as we all went through major mental turmoil. While some were fighting for their lives, the others were praying for them to get better. Each one of us was trying to find an escape from the dark time, keeping us sane.

So, an avid gamer decided to rely on Apex Legends, a free-to-play video game. He then found two players who became his best friends in real life, as the trio spent hours together in the fictional land. 

However, Derek, a part of the three, parted ways on October 5, 2021. He passed away due to a seizure, leaving the other two in shock. Both of them badly suffered as they’d lost someone close to their heart.

So, as a tribute to their best friend, one of them got a tattoo inspired by his character. With a mirage drawing on his hand, the person also added Derek’s favorite catchphrase, “Nice McDice,” in his loving memory.

“I got an Apex tattoo yesterday for one of my best friends who passed away last year from a seizure. Mirage was his main, Show Stopper was his skin, and “Nice McDice” was his catchphrase when we got a down or knock. I miss you Derek. I love you homie,” the fan said in his recent Reddit post.

The entire Apex community quickly extended their support as they crowned his tribute as the perfect one!
