Assassin’s Creed has become the trademark series for Ubisoft. They have spread it across almost every platform and have released titles ranging from books to movies, all of which are based on this series. There was even a three-part animated series based on Ezio’s life. After years of continuous success, the series has yet to slow down.

It is so successful that Ubisoft decided to announce not one, not two not even three, but four new upcoming titles in this series. One of them, Assassin’s Creed Mirage would be launching for all platforms sometime in 2023.
Assassin’s Creed VR is still in development
Along with numerous Assassin’s Creed games that Ubisoft has previously announced and has been working on for a while now, there is one game that fans might have completely forgotten about.
It is a VR game based on the sci-fi historical universe of this series. Ubisoft announced this game over two years ago. After its announcement, they did not talk about it much. They just released Far Cry 6, and a new AC game called Valhalla and such.
Now two years after, everyone has pretty much given up on getting any update regarding this upcoming title. However, Insider Gaming noticed something curious recently. It was a job posting on hitmarker which suggests that the game might still be in development.

They suggest that the game is codenamed Project Nexus and has at least 16 story-based missions. It is also suggested that the title would feature almost all of AC’s popular protagonists in different missions, as playable or non-playable characters.
The posting is for a VR Performance Programmer and it specifically states that it’s for Assassin’s Creed VR. Chances are that Ubisoft was waiting for the announcement of PS VR 2 and maybe they have fast-forwarded the production after Sony announced it.
