It seems that the perfect 40/40 score given to Street Fighter 6 by Famitsu Magazine isn’t making much impacts on the community. Despite incredibly well received by critics, the Metacritic users scores for the latest instalment of the long-standing franchise are almost shocking for many veteran arcade fans. While the critics score on the website reads 92, the user rating are almost insulting for the devs with only 5.2. However, there may be more than what meets the eye as a recent Reddit post saw users squabbling over what may cause such a shocking market rating. It seems that rage-quitters may have something to do with the results.

Some Reddit users were amused by the disparity of the ratings from critics and users and revealed that the low ratings can be attributed to salty players who don’t have the tenacity to grind a game to unlock achievements.

Street Fighter 6 released 3 years after the last title release of the highly popular franchise by Capcom. With cross-platform playability options, many fans were eagerly looking forward to finally be able to play with their friends who use different consoles than them. However, after launch on June 2, the game seemed to be severely underperforming in the market.

Metacritic scores also yielded stunning results for a game that comes with a lineage like Street Fighter. While long time fans were sure that the root cause of such a result was something else, others took an active initiative to find out why the game stumbled upon its face.

In a recent community post on Reddit, users got together and put their brains to find out what caused Street Fighter 6 to generate such poor results, despite an enthusiastic nod from the critics.

Redditor tries to explain the scenario

One Redditor explained that there are possibly a number of reasons that are making people write negative reviews for the game. The post reveals that while some people are upset with the poor graphics quality for the Xbox version of Street Fighter 6, many beginners were disappointed to learn that the game isn’t easy-to-adapt. The post further explained that rage-quitters were furious after losing matches for too long. Many are also unsure of grinding the game to unlock in-game skins. Poorly designed characters is another thing that didn’t go down well with many fans. Redditors under the post couldn’t stop exclaiming at the childishness of these rage-quitters who seem to flock to Metacritic and poor reviews for one of the best rated games of 2023, simply because they don’t want to put too much effort into the game to level up.

However, despite such poor reviews, it remains to be seen if Street Fighter 6 can land a perfect upper-cut to the rage-quitters or if it succumbs to the pressure.
