Super Mario Bros Wonder is no doubt a very creative game. It is, in fact, the most creative Nintendo has been with its 2D Mario series of games. Everybody is aware of that era of new Super Mario Bros titles that kept on releasing without much new to offer its fans.
Nintendo decided to change that with Super Mario Bros Wonder. It did so by adding completely new power-ups (such as Elephant Mario Flower), new NPCs, adding new gameplay modes, and even adding new playable characters. All this, in addition to a brand-new sense of humor to this game, is clearly visible in a new trailer.
The latest trailer for Super Mario Bros Wonder shows Bowser going gaga over Princess Peach.

Ever since its announcement earlier this year, Super Mario Bros Wonder received many trailers and gameplay videos. Fans have even seen a bunch of demos for this game and tried it themselves. But one thing that Nintendo refrained from showing its fans was any detail about this game’s story.

Finally, a very brief new trailer shows exactly this. Posted on X by Nintendo of Japan, this trailer showcases Princess Peach just minding her own business. While she just stands in one place, playing with butterflies, Bowser comes and offers her a flower. While he is doing his best to convince her to take that flower, an elephant power-up appears out of nowhere, and Peach grabs it, turning her into an elephant peach.
Bowser is no doubt shocked by this; he looks at his flower, hides it behind his back, and offers Elephant Peach a bouquet instead. And this is where the trailer ends, giving fans a glimpse at what to expect from Super Mario Bros. Wonder’s story. If nothing else, expect a humorous story that will tickle you with its quirks.

Will fans get a 3D Super Mario game anytime soon?
While Super Mario Bros Wonder shines on most fronts, it’s still a 2D Super Mario title. Nintendo has yet to show fans what’s next for their jumpy mascot in 3D. One must remember that the last 3D Mario game Nintendo launched was in 2017, which was Super Mario Odyssey. Super Mario 3D World does not count, given the fact that it was a re-release of a Wii U title.
