Over the last few years, one thing that became synonymous with Call of Duty was big-name collaborations. Whether it was the Snoop Dogg Operators or Lara Croft coming into the game, fans had plenty of new content. After all, with a player base as big as Call of Duty, it always helps to get your brand seen by players.

With Call of Duty Modern Warfare II at the end of its cycle, as MWII is close to release, fans thought there would be hardly any content coming out. That is where they went wrong, as Activision Blizzard geared up to bring one of their franchises into Call of Duty.

Call of Duty announced the arrival of two new Operators from Diablo 4 as part of The Haunting’s newest content pack. The two Operators will be the Queen of the Succubi Lillith and the fallen archangel, Inarius.

The Haunting update is the major content chunk coming to CoD players in Season 06. Similar to the way the Haunting worked back when players were on Verdansk, there will be a spooky overhaul to the map. While there will be updates made to how the gameplay will turn out, the focus of this content pack brings two of the most popular characters from Diablo 4.

The crossover was arguably long overdue. Both games are owned by the same parent company, Activision Blizzard. Moreover, each of them is a hit franchise of their own. Bringing them together as part of a Halloween month collaboration was almost certain.

Fans love the idea of this crossover

As soon as fans saw this collaboration, they knew it was something big. They did not waste any time currying favor with the Queen of the Succubi, Lillith. However, it might not be enough to stop her Operator from spreading terror across Call of Duty.

Despite having the same parent company, some fans never thought this collaboration would happen. It was a surprise for some, especially since it has been quite a while since Diablo 4 came out. It seems Activision Blizzard waited for the right moment.

Fans were quick to point out Diablo 4’s decline over the last few months. According to them, the crossover sees the game’s assets used somewhere. Devs might have hoped to see the collaboration attract some of the player base back into Diablo 4.

One thing fans can say for certain is collaboration’s impact. With the content update, one user feels like he’s been instantly pulled back into COD.
