As the much-awaited Sony showcase, PlayStation State of Play draws near, fans have already started to speculate and theorize what could they expect from the upcoming event. And one of the most popular choices is none other than the next installment of the Legendary horror game franchise, Silent Hill.
The upcoming State of Play may follow the example of the competitors and drop some huge names coming soon on the console. Previously, both Microsoft and Nintendo wrapped up their showcases, announcing some big names such as Minecraft Legends, Redfall, Pikmin 4, and Splatoon 3 DLC.

The chances may be bleak, but it is not impossible. So, yes, there could be an announcement for the next installment of the beloved horror game franchise, Silent Hill. However, there haven’t been any official reports about the shadow drop, except for fans’ theories and speculations.
However, the speculation holds some ground, as they are based on the behavior of the competitors during their presentations. Previously, both Microsoft and Nintendo, shadow-dropped some of their hyped-up titles such as the Hi-Fi rush and Metroid Prime remaster. So many believe PlayStation may also follow their example.

The franchise has spawned a plethora of adaptations, including movies, comics, and spinoffs. However, except for the 2014 Playable Teaser, there haven’t been any other additions to the story, nor there have been any news about a new game.
What to expect from the upcoming state of play?
The upcoming Sony PlayStation, State of Play will be broadcasted on February 23, 2023. The event will be simultaneously live-streamed on PlayStation’s official channels on YouTube and Twitch. In a recent Tweet, PlayStation teased some of the pieces that will be showcased in the broadcast.

Among them, fans are unarguably most hyped up about the “Hot indie and third-party reveals”. The top contenders for the reveals are Hollow Knight: Silk Song, Silent Hill, BloodBorne remastered, and a potential Resident Evil Game or a remaster. However, there haven’t been any official announcements of the third-party and Indie titles.
