Elon Musk recently tweeted about Twitter trying to eliminate the accounts which impersonate someone else. However, he claimed those who mimic for fun parody are safe from this scrutiny but need to mention that it’s a parody account. Otherwise, Twitter authorities would ban such accounts from their platform.
Hearing about these new updates, some creators like Ethan Klein decided to check it out. The H3 podcaster decided to impersonate none other than the new Twitter boss, Elon Musk. So, he changed his profile’s name and picture to match Musk’s account. Further, he made jokes about Musk’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein from the parody account.
Later, Ethan’s account got suspended for impersonating the billionaire despite mentioning it’s a parody. Later, an unimpressed Klein tweeted from his H3 Podcast’s account, “Comedy is dead on Twitter, and Elon Musk did it.” Moreover, some other creators also complained about their parody accounts getting suspended despite mentioning ‘parody’.
How did Twitter react to it?
Many fans showcased their support for Klein. They also supported the YouTube podcaster’s wrongful suspension on Twitter. Meanwhile, some claimed that Ethan Klein deserved to the consequences for impersonating Elon Musk. Let’s look at some reactions to the suspension on Twitter.
