Fans of the anti-hero Venom were thrilled to know about his involvement in the upcoming sequel when Insomniac made an official announcement for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Now that his character is confirmed, there’s a new update that might escalate the hype for him among the hardcore fanboys.
Venom actor Tony Todd has reportedly begun shooting for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Actor Tony Todd, who’s mostly known for his iconic roles in horror films, will portray Venom in Insomniac’s successor to its 2018 blockbuster. The latter was a PlayStation exclusive just in case anyone didn’t keep track.
The official trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 showed Peter and Miles from his own 2020 hit title, which was a spin-off. The brief clip ended up teasing Venom’s arrival as well. Since then, all the gaming enthusiasts are curious about the anti-hero in the sequel.
Well, it looks like there’s something to cheer about for Venom lovers waiting for him in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Recently, Tony Todd tweeted on his main account mentioning that he’s begun doing motion capture for a project.

Now, it’s already known that he’s portraying Venom in the next Spider-Man game. And going by his IMDb profile right now, the only active project he’s working on is none other than Insomniac’s game itself. Considering that the title might release in 2023, there should be no doubt in assuming that he is, in fact, working on his Venom role for the sequel.

For those who are still unaware of him, Tony Todd has portrayed the iconic Candyman in the past films in the classic horror franchise. He also did a cameo of the titular character once again in 2021’s Candyman.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently in development. Contrary to the previous installments, it will only release exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
