But when boundaries and limits are neglected, love and admiration can turn into something very frightening. Respect for an individual’s privacy is vital for maintaining a healthy environment, but some fans forget this simple fact and do despicable acts that are criminal by every means.

Stalkers aren’t new to streamers. Fans that forget their boundaries and do desperate things to get attention from their favorite creators are sadly becoming much more common in recent times. This dynamic sometimes creates the illusion that the person behind the screen is close and intimate, but in reality, they aren’t. They have a private life of their own and the followers have to respect that fact no matter what. 

Amouranth explains the stalker incident at TwitchCon San Diego

Some of the fans of big streamers like Amouranth, forget this boundary. The most recent example is her harassment by a stalker at the massive event of TwitchCon 2022. She had 24-hour security with her, as she didn’t want to take any chances during the event. But still, she had to face inconvenience because of a fan that turned out to be a stalker.

In a recent stream, she told her fans about the whole situation. She said, “I have 24-hour security. That’s why I said security had to get involved as the stalker showed up. But that doesn’t mean I wanted the stalker to see me.” Even with security, Amouranth didn’t want her stalker to notice her. So she went to a room upstairs, and that is when she got a call from her cameraman who he had to “Pull up”.

Amouranth’s TwitchCon experience may have been very scary, but unfortunately, this isn’t the first she has been in a situation like this. Reportedly, one of Amouranth’s fans extremely scared her once.

This person was living under the illusion that he was engaged to her. He actually took a flight to meet her. Even though she had cleared the misconceptions, he kept on messaging her. The individual became an obsessed stalker. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the end of the stalkers.

In August 2021, the streamer had a terrifying arson attempt at her house. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but it gives a clear picture of how dangerous the life of a streamer is. The limelight may look pretty from a distance, but in reality, it is equally terrifying.
