It’s been only 2 months since the year 2022 began, and the community’s already witnessed some exciting titles and announcements involving Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Warzone Pacific, and more. And the year just got better with the newly launched highly anticipated title, Elden Ring.
No doubt the fans are enjoying playing this title. Moreover, the title has already found a respectable spot on OpenCritic and Metacritic.
What’s even more surprising is this title holds the 2nd position on OpenCritic’s best games. And on Metacritic, this title lies in the 12th position on the list of best games of all time.

But when it comes to both sites’ top title, Nintendo proudly holds that position with two of their iconic titles. One is the 2017 released iconic title Super Mario Odyssey (OpenCritic). The other is the legendary 1998 action-adventure title, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Metacritic).
On the 25th of February 2022, one popular gaming personality named Zach was featured in a video on the official SwitchForce YouTube channel. In this video, Zach talks about Elden Ring landing among the top titles on OpenCritic and Metacritic websites.

Elden Ring dethrones Nintendo
Zach mentioned that at some point Elden Ring had an OpenCritic score of 98 and had successfully dethroned Super Mario Odyssey, claiming the top position. But later on, Super Mario Odyssey claimed back the top position with a score of 97. And, as of now, Elden Ring has an OpenCritic score of 96.

For the fans who aren’t familiar with the fact, Elden Ring is available on multiple platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, and Microsoft Windows. Moreover, this title also won the most anticipated game award at the 2021 The Game Awards.
Needless to say, the hype behind this game prior to its release was went unmatched, and now that game is finally out in the open for people to enjoy, there’s a good chance a lot of people won’t be seeing the world outside anytime soon.
