The results of the ongoing beta tests are not something that will excite the Battlefield fanbase. The community simply did not have a great time playing Battlefield 2042 in its current state. The developers have stated that the original game is further ahead in the developmental process and that the beta test showcases an older build.
However, if this turns out to be false, then it could set the title back to a much later release day. This would grant Call of Duty an easy win, as Vanguard would only have to compete with Halo: Infinite in December.

Battlefield 2042 still needs a lot of work claims Tom Henderson
Popular leaker and industry analyst, Tom Henderson, shared the bad news with the community. He states that the title is not performing up to expectations and there is also some performance lag. It could be possible that this iteration of Battlefield will turn out to be a flop on launch day with nearly 6-12 months still needed.

Personally, I think #Battlefield2042 needs a few more months in the oven.
I know the developers said this build is a few months old, but when do devs ever tell the truth?
It'll probably be the case of it will be where it should have been on launch 6-12 months after release.

If this report turns out to be legitimate, then EA might face a similar situation as CDPR did with Cyberpunk 2077. The futuristic title has now finally become the near-perfect version of itself that it should have been on the launch date. Sadly, it just took nearly 10 months to bring the game back to its promised performance level.

EA should take a page out of Ubisoft’s book and delay Battlefield 2042 for next year. A community-wide failure will only set the franchise back and cause them to incur losses. If the title is truly not ready and still in a bad shape, then a hasty decision can decimate Battlefield’s grand return.
Totally the game is not ready at all. Also the orbital map is just so open and bland to play. The weapons don’t fee punchy either. Destruction is quite disappointing too. Graphical bugs constantly on series S. Frame drops aswell. Sadly I’m not that impressed.

Fans on the thread, who have taken part in the ongoing beta testing, shared the same viewpoint. It looks like the current version of the game is nothing close to the advertised product in trailers. Maps are full of bugs, horrible performance across next-gen consoles, and lobbies full of AI bots instead of players. This seems like a perfect recipe for disaster that will not end well if the title isn’t pushed.
