Yes, that’s right, with the latest Mario movie being developed by Illumination, YouTube’s popular video game theory channel ‘Game Theory’ suggests that Nintendo might soon bring something extremely new and innovative things for its fans.
Nintendo is now surfing towards making films?
In a recent video by Game Theory, host Matthew Patrick theorizes that gaming giant Nintendo might be planning on making interactive films using their personal IPs. This theory came to light after the console giant brought an entire company named Dynamo Pictures, which specializes in 3D motion capture and animation.
Also, the fact that Nintendo is making a new Super Mario Bros. movie with their collaboration with Illumination proves that they might be trying to learn the process of filmmaking to expand their reach. Not just too simple animated films but a one-of-a-kind interactive film-cum-videogame experience.

It is therefore a learning process for the console giant to build a new kind of video game or console that can help them experiment with their IPs and make more interesting content for their fans.
Are they trying to make a cinematic universe?
Another thing to notice here is the fact that just like the popular superhero film franchise from Marvel did with their characters, Nintendo might also be trying to make something similar. According to the theory by MatPat, it was suspected that Nintendo might be planning on making a new cinematic universe similar to MCU.
