Popular Avengers Star Scarlett Johansson Once Professed Her Love for Mario Kart

Scarlett Johansson is one of the most recognizable icons. Better known as Black Widow to her fanbase, the Hollywood superstar capped off 2021 with the Marvel blockbuster ‘Black Widow’. As fans wonder what the American actress is up to next, an interview with IGN may reveal how the actress is spending her free time.

In a video titled ’10 Nerdy Questions with Scarlett Johansson’, a visibly younger Scarlett engages with IGN, revealing her favorite video game in the process. Notably, it’s a party game that’s best played with friends. So the Marvel actress might be more competitive than fans thought.

The video saw its release back in 2016, so Scarlett’s preferences might have changed in the meantime. But when asked what her favorite video game was, the actress chuckles and responds.

“My favorite video game, probably Mario Kart.”

The seminal Nintendo title, Mario Kart, is one of the most popular franchises in the Japanese video game company’s arsenal. The best-selling iteration of the franchise, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, has sold over 38.74 million copies as of 2021 (reporting by Eurogamer)

However, this does not imply that the 2014 Nintendo release is the Marvel actress’ go-to game. Quite anticlimactically, Scarlett didn’t reveal which iteration of the franchise was her favorite, but as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has already seen a release by then, it remains a strong contender.

Significantly, fans have a much more lucid answer to Johansson’s number one character to play as. She mentions that she usually plays as Toad because the mushroom-headed mascot is “so cute”. Shigeru Miyamoto would be proud.
