Metaverse is a “poorly built” video game, says Xbox chief Phil Spencer
Phil Spencer recently appeared at the Wall Street Journal Tech Live conference. When the host asked him to define Metaverse and what it means to him, he said that it’s “a poorly built video game.” Expanding on his point further, he also said that being a gaming lover, he’s not a fan of the way the Metaverse concept works.
“Video game creators have an amazing ability to build compelling worlds that we want to go spend time in,” he said. “For me, building a metaverse that looks like a meeting room… I just find that’s not where I want to spend most of my time.” However, the Xbox boss wasn’t the only prominent tech leader to express distaste for Mark Zuckerberg’s ambitious gaming project.
