But there’s been a problem that has surfaced before the next week’s launch of Gotham Knights. The developing team of the title just recently shared a crucial information regarding the co-op game. And going by the reactions on social media, there seems to be a total divide in the community. Simply put, the game may witness some growing debates leading up to its debut.
Community left divided over Gotham Knights lacking 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox consoles, compared to PC
The new title from WB Games Montreal is going to feature four central characters who try to restore justice to Gotham City. Batgirl, Red Hood, Night Wing, and Robin will be responsible for catching the bad guys to make sure they don’t wreak havoc on the innocent.
When it comes to the promotional trailers and footage for Gotham Knights, they have mostly pleased gaming enthusiasts. Thanks to the captivating visuals and play style introduced for the characters, many players have been looking forward to trying out this multi-platform title.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case as of now, after a major news was confirmed by the developers. As reported by VGC, executive producer Fleur Marty had shared a crucial detail on the game’s Discord server. She mentioned that Gotham Knights will be locked at a maximum frame rate of 30 FPS on the consoles. It won’t support 60 FPS gameplay option. This will be available only on the PC platform.
Fleur’s reason for taking such a decision was that the game’s detailed open-world can’t be lowered down in terms of the resolution to achieve a higher FPS count. Because there’s an untethered co-op experience involved.
As soon as this news spread across social media, most of the fans were divided into two sections. There were those who simply couldn’t digest the fact the AAA game releasing on the next-gen consoles in 2022 is limited to 30 FPS.
Just canceled my Gotham Knights pre-order for Xbox. I just can't accept the fact that the game will be playable on 30 fps in 2022. pic.twitter.com/JNJBkJbLgS

I had to cancel mine too :(, A couple of days ago tried to play RDR II on my PS5 and I couldn't stand the 30fps anymore. I am not used to it, I notice it too much I got very dizzy!

Good on you, I did the same, it’s not ok that they are just lazy and keeping the fps to 30 so that it can come out on all gen consoles. There not getting my cash till they increase it 🙌🏼👌🏽

Same Here , I canceled the pre-Order , I just feel sorry for the other gamers who don’t know about the 30 fps .

Then there were those users who didn’t seem to have an issue at all. Because they are more excited about the story, visuals, and overall experience than higher frame rates.
I'm keeping mine. I'm not gonna let something as insignificant as 30 frames stop me from enjoying this amazing looking game.

I hope you understand that FPS is limited by the hardware you play on? Cancel your gaming consoles, and get yourself a capable PC.

I'm curious if reviews or audience responses might change your mind. I'm disappointed too, but I don't think (at this time) forfeiting my time in Gotham is worth it to take a stand on 60fps. Lots of games still play well at 30. Patch later?
