The article addressed the under-standard pay of video editors in the content streaming industry. As many may know, editors have frequently voiced about how their contribution is overlooked and sometimes, underpaid. According to the article, many editors believe they deserve more.
While the issue with underpayment in the streaming industry isn’t unknown, fans felt that the said article was more of a ‘personal rant’ than an investigative story. Moreover, some editors, like that of Pokimane, Bao and Vienna, took to their social handles to express their opinions.
Fans lash out as writer uses an image of Pokimane irrelevantly
Although Pokimane’s editor acknowledged the existence of the issue, he revealed complete satisfaction with her as an employer. Pokimane’s editor and YT channel manager further pointed out how the article doesn’t have a single mention of her but still features her picture.

“I’m sure some editors are exploited, but don’t throw her name/face on this for clickbait,” he shared. Furthermore, he asked the writer to not mention big streamers with no evidence.
poki's editor and ch manager here – i'm sure some editors are exploited, but don't throw her name/face on this for clickbait. i'm compensated well and our prices for editors are competitive. you should focus on actual problems instead of implicating big streamers with 0 evidence https://t.co/WEeo2wA9Kx

JKSADlol also mentioned how his previous employers have compensated him well.
same goes for every streamer i've ever worked with. from my experience big streamers tend to be VERY (and I mean very) generous with pay and a sometimes even operate their youtube channels making $0 from it or even operating at a loss

Not only Pokimane’s editor but Bao and Vienna’s editor also chipped in.
Heyo! Bao and Vienna's editor here. Yes, I am compensated well and they are the best people to work with. It's just sad that they were both thrown in this personal rant article.

Here are some more notable reactions.
When people take legitimate issues and then use personal bias along with poor research/information it brings the issue to light in a poor and tactless way while undermining the actual issue because truth is being left out of the equation https://t.co/WV7eLInzGp

There are editors being underpaid but this turned out to be more of a personal rant than a legitimate investigative article.
Do better.I am so glad I never had any reason to express any complaints towards my clients. They are all lovely to work with.💖 https://t.co/K0Zo8nvwNk
