Pokimane confesses what she hates about the gaming community

Imane Anys, better known as Pokimane, is one of the most popular female streamers on the internet. Recently, Poki commented on people’s habits of using slurs, especially in the gaming community.

Her tweet read, “it’s disappointing to still see people use slurs, especially in the gaming community. i hope they can grow and learn that there’s a plethora of terms they can use without harming marginalized groups.” After reading her opinions, several people commented to not state any statement that she can’t follow up herself.

Recently, Poki’s old clip of using a racist slur has taken all over the internet. Unfortunately, it’s not confirmed that she was using a racist slur as some fans believe she was likely referring to Anivia, a character in the League of Legends game. Regardless, Poki was indeed caught in a slur incident 9 years ago and she admitted it back then.

However, she motivated others to be like her and learn from their mistakes. She also mentioned that she has apologized several times for her mistakes. She said, “i feel that i’ve made an effort to grow since 9 years ago when that happened and have since apologized many times. i hope i can be an example that people can learn from their mistakes and grow too.”
