Twitch Star and streamer Pokimane came into a row as the first streamer to get striked for the new DMCA regulations. The streamer was banned from Twitch this Friday for 48 hours for streaming Avatar: The Last Airbender for more than 10 hours. While at the start, there was uncertainty about the reason for this ban, later it was confirmed by Pokimane herself that the ban came in light of her recent stream.
Pokimane has addressed the situation on Twitter and has been quite mature about it. She accepts her fault for getting the strike and thought such action was inevitable during the new react meta. Let’s find out what she has to say regarding this ban.

Streamers such as Sykkuno expressed their concerns about this arbitrary banned and compared it further with Mizkif. Mizkif was also binge-watching and streaming Master Chef during that period and did not face any regulatory action from the DMCA. Sykkuno exclaims, “I don’t want to be that dude, but Mizkif streamed Avatar too. Does that mean he gets banned? I’m snitching on him — but he streamed it to like 50,000 people.”

The ban was also quite shocking for the streamer Disguised Toast who later contemplated deleting their VODs and clips just to stay on the safe side.
While Pokimane might be the first streamer to get the strike from Twitch, this does not eliminate the possibility that many others might come into scrutiny during this new meta testing period of Twitch.
