One of the most difficult yet vital choices before starting a new pokemon game is to choose the starters. Starter pokemon is the initial creature every trainer gets at the beginning of their adventure. Each starter in every game is designed to help the players in the initial fights in the game and they are expected to accompany the trainer until the end of the game.

Fuecoco: Starting with the fire starter, Fuecoco. It is undoubtedly the best choice for the first two gyms closest to the starting point. As the first two gyms are Bug type and Grass types, which are very weak to the fire typing.

The third and final evolution of Fuecoco is Skeledirge. It has Fire and Ghost Typing. This allows it to make quick work of Ghost and Physic Gyms. And his high HP and Special Attack stats make him a great tank to soak up damage for the team. But its low-speed stats can be problematic in some encounters.

Quaxly: The Water-type starter Quaxly is the strongest early Pokemon against the main antagonist team of games, Team Star Fire Crew. Though Quaxly is not very effective against the initial gym but its final evolution, Quaquaval is a great addition to every team.

Quaquaval has an interesting Water-Fighting type combination that gives the upper hand in many fights, including the tricky Normal Type Gyms.

Sprigatito: Finally the Grass Type starter Sprigatito. It was the most anticipated starter ever since the game’s announcement. But it also faced some backlash when it stood on its own two feet instead of four. Sprigatito is the best option for the end-game challenges such as the Elite Four.

Meowscarada, is the third evolution of Sprigatito. It has strong Grass and Drak Typings. Meowscarada is very effective against Psychic and Ghost Type gyms. With its high attack and Speed stats, the fights will end before you can realize. But its low HP makes things very difficult in the matches that last for a while.
