Guerrilla Games’ highly anticipated project, Horizon Forbidden West, opened big in its opening week. As per the latest reports, the PlayStation exclusive succeeded in capturing the top position in the UK sales chart. Along with that, it also pushed down the Nintendo Switch-based Pokemon Legends: Arceus, on the second spot.

In case anyone of you missed it, Horizon Forbidden West released last week, on Friday, across the globe. Thanks to the overwhelming critical reception, most of the PlayStation owners showed heavy interest in purchasing it.

Horizon Forbidden West swings past Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Before its official release on February 18, Forbidden West was expected to have a massive debut; due to the impressive early reviews from major outlets, it gained solid momentum before release.

Speaking of the reactions so far, then currently Horizon Forbidden West, for PS5, has a stellar score of 88 on Metacritic, based on 106 critic reviews. Not only that, even the users have also given it a big thumbs up, now that they have it. The user rating on the website stands at an incredible 8 out of 10, based on 3,816 responses.

After receiving so many a compliment, it was quite obvious to see the game open to phenomenal reception And it delivered as well, debuting as the number one, best-selling boxed title in the UK sales chart, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.

Due to this change, the previous crown holder, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, ultimately slipped to the second position, following an unbeaten streak.

Other rank holders included the likes of Dying Light 2 and also Activision’s Call of Duty: Vanguard.
