Since its original release on IOS and Android, the iconic game has so far earned more than $5 billion in revenue. On average, this means that Pokemon GO has earned around $1 Billion per year, which is pretty huge.
Not only this, in just the first half of 2021, the game has already earned around $641.6 million, thanks to its stay-at-home functionality. This is its best start by far. Looks like 2021 is the best year ever for Pokemon GO. Senser Tower Data also showed that this year’s revenue is up by 34% as compared to 2020. Going back to 2017, the revenue of 2021 is up by 130% as compared to the 2017 first-half total.

Countries that have generated the most lifetime revenue for Pokemon Go

These three countries have generated the most revenue for the game. America is in first place with 36.6% of lifetime player spending. This is close to 1.9 Billion. Japan takes the second spot with 32% and the third place goes to Germany with 5.4%. There is a total of 632 million downloads of Pokemon Go. Out of 632 million downloads, the big share goes to the Google Play store with approximately 487 million downloads, which is quite an impressive number. It is roughly 77% of the total download. The App Store has fewer downloads as compared to the play store but 144.8 is still is a great number.

When all the data was taken into account together, the average amount of money spent by a player on Pokemon GO till this date is approximately $7.91.

This number is likely to increase after the Pokemon GO fest 2021. The fest is on 17-18 July 2021. This year’s event is again a virtual one. The studio also revealed that Pokemon GO fest 2021 will be hosted in over 20 cities around the US, New Zealand, and Europe. Pokemon GO is considered as the powerhouse of the global mobile games market. With the upgrade of more stay-at-home functionality of the game, the game has gained immense popularity in the COVID-19 pandemics and lockdown situations. These upgrades have really paid off, with revenue records hitting high marks.
